The Winter Show is the premier art, antiques, and design fair in America, featuring many of the world's top experts in the fine and decorative arts. Held annually at the Park Avenue Armory, the fair showcases a breadth of works spanning 5,000 years presented by over 70 internationally renowned dealers including paintings and works on paper, fine furniture, design, jewelry, and contemporary ceramics and glass. Famed for its rigorous vetting practices carried out by a committee of 120 experts, the Fair's exhibitors offer works of the highest standards of authenticity and quality in the industry.

The American Art Fair celebrates its seventeenth year from May 11-14, 2024 at the elegant, landmarked Bohemian National Hall, 321 East 73rd Street, New York City. The Fair focuses on American 19th and 20th century works with more than 400 landscapes, portraits, still lifes, studies, and sculpture exhibited by 17 premier specialists.

Fair hours are 12-6pm Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, and 12-5pm on Tuesday. Admission to the fair is complimentary, see the link below for additional information.

On Saturday, October 28, the Madison Avenue Fall Gallery Walk will give the public the opportunity to visit galleries that span Madison Avenue and its adjacent streets from East 57 to East 86 Street. The Madison Avenue Fall Gallery Walk will be free and open to the public.

The gallery will be open 11 - 4 with discussion about the current exhibition William R. Christopher (1924 - 1973): A Rediscovery at 12pm and 2pm.

The Winter Show is the leading art, antiques, and design fair in America, featuring many of the world's top experts in the fine and decorative arts. The Fair was established in the mid 1950s as a benefit for East Side House Settlement and, by the end of that decade, had firmly established iself as the leading event of its kind in the United States. Postponed from the usual January timeslot, over 60 international dealers will showcase a dynamic selection of works spanning over 5,000 years of fine art, decorative objects, and jewelry from antiquity through the present day. Each object will be reviewed by the vetting committee, comprised of experts from the United States and Europe. The Winter Show 2022 is thrilled to welcome back dealers and visitors alike as we come together to celebrate the Show's 68th anniversary. 

 

Located at 660 Madison Avenue (at 61st Street), the fair's opening night party is March 31st. Fair hours are 12 - 8pm on Monday/Wednesday/Fridays, 12 - 4:30pm Tuesday/Thursday, 12 - 7pm Saturdays, and 12 - 6pm Sundays. See the link below for additional information about the fair.

Herman Maril: The Strong Forms of Our Experience

The Cahoon Museum of American Art

This exhibition of nearly 90 artworks, on loan from the Maril Foundation, provides a comprehensive display by the 20th Century modernist artist Herman Maril (1908-1986) and includes works executed from 1929 – 1985. Although Maril’s oil paintings are widely known, he also mastered virtually all drawing media, including watercolor, gouache, artist crayon, pencil, ink, and ball point pen, samples of which are the focus of this exhibition. The exhibition includes many of his sketches and watercolors of fisherman, docks, and beaches from that time. A catalog prepared by Dr. Ann Prentice Wagner, Curator of Drawings at the Arkansas Art Center, accompanies the show. This exhibition traveled from the University of Maryland Art Gallery (Sept. 7 - Dec. 9, 2016) and the Arkansas Art Center (January 27 - April 16, 2017).

The American Art Fair celebrates its ninth year from November 18–21, 2016 at the Bohemian National Hall, 321 East 73rd Street, New York City. Inaugurated in 2008, The American Art Fair is now the only one that focuses on American 19th and 20th century works and features hundreds of landscapes, portraits, still lifes, studies, and sculpture exhibited by 17 premier specialists.

Debra Force Fine Art is pleased to announce the feature on First Schulykill Regatta by Nicolino Vicompte Calyo in the current issue of Fine Art Connoisseur. An exciting discover, the gouache is thought to be the first American scene of a boat regatta which took place on the Schulykill River on November 12, 1835.  The work was acquired by the Undine Barge Club in Philadelphia circa 1867 and hung in the upriver clubhouse, Castle Ringstetten, designed by Frank Furness.
