This exhibition of nearly 90 artworks, on loan from the Maril Foundation, provides a comprehensive display by the 20th Century modernist artist Herman Maril (1908-1986) and includes works executed from 1929 – 1985. Although Maril’s oil paintings are widely known, he also mastered virtually all drawing media, including watercolor, gouache, artist crayon, pencil, ink, and ball point pen, samples of which are the focus of this exhibition. The exhibition includes many of his sketches and watercolors of fisherman, docks, and beaches from that time. A catalog prepared by Dr. Ann Prentice Wagner, Curator of Drawings at the Arkansas Art Center, accompanies the show. This exhibition traveled from the University of Maryland Art Gallery (Sept. 7 - Dec. 9, 2016) and the Arkansas Art Center (January 27 - April 16, 2017).

Debra Force Fine Art is pleased to announce the feature on First Schulykill Regatta by Nicolino Vicompte Calyo in the current issue of Fine Art Connoisseur. An exciting discover, the gouache is thought to be the first American scene of a boat regatta which took place on the Schulykill River on November 12, 1835. The work was acquired by the Undine Barge Club in Philadelphia circa 1867 and hung in the upriver clubhouse, Castle Ringstetten, designed by Frank Furness.
